Together with our partners, we are excited to reveal the premiere showing of the GeoEnergy NI documentary, ‘Unearthing the heat beneath our feet’! Join us for a special night at the museum on Thursday 20th February for a screening as part of the Northern Ireland Science Festival 2025. 

The short film, hosted by local broadcaster and geology enthusiast Paulo Ross, explores the power and potential of geothermal energy in Northern Ireland – engaging with businesses, academics, and students as well as some local households who are already utilising geothermal energy.

‘Unearthing the heat beneath our feet’! documents the GeoEnergy NI project, a two-year long demonstrator project investigating shallow and deep geothermal potential at the Stormont Estate, Belfast and College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise, Greenmount Campus near Antrim.

As well as a premiere showing of the GeoEnergy NI documentary, guests can enjoy a panel discussion with some of the ‘rock stars’ from the film to discover more about Northern Ireland’s geothermal potential.
