We had an incredible time attending Northern Ireland’s largest agri-food event, the Balmoral Show, as part of the NI Government Departments’ Exhibition.

Our GeoEnergy Discovery Centre proved very popular with visitors over the four-day festival, with thousands of people stopping by to discover the heat beneath their feet, including our own Economy Minister Deirdre Hargey, as well as several other Ministers and MLAs!

Through our Virtual Reality (VR) headsets, geothermal experiments, ‘show and tell’ rocks and props, and the brand new ‘Borehole Toss’ game, our knowledgeable Geo Ambassadors welcomed visitors to enjoy interactive and educational activities whilst learning more about NI’s geothermal potential.

As always, our VR headsets proved popular with users enjoying the immersive experience of travelling 250 m underground, enabling them to visualise the subsurface and gain more information about this local, low carbon, renewable energy source.

Our Balmoral Show experience certainly ‘rocked’ and we thank everyone who stopped by to have a chat and ask questions.

We look forward to popping up at other locations around Northern Ireland throughout the year. For more information, or to register interest for a group booking for the GeoEnergy Discovery Centre, visit Geothermal Roadshow.
